Seasons Greetings

October 6, 2024

Welcome to Day 5 of promoting my next release - Time for Love. I’ve been working on this collection for about four years. The romantic collection has twenty short stories - ten about how a couple got engaged and ten about how a couple met. The story I’m going to talk about today is Seasons Greetings, a short story taking place on Christmas Eve 2021.

Ivy and Jon have been planning their wedding. They’ve set a date. They’ve found a wedding site. There’s just one little thing missing - he hasn’t officially proposed with a ring. That is about to change. How does he propose? You’ll have to read the 18th story in the collection to find out.

How does this story relate to other stories in the gagengirl universe?

The male lead, Jon Quinn, was created for one of my older novels. His sister Natalie makes a brief appearance in Just a Kiss. Natalie’s twin sister is Camille, Abbott’s ex-girlfriend in Just a Kiss. While I was writing that novel, Jon moved from Los Angeles to Vermont.

Ivy’s best friend Ciara is related to Let There Be Love’s Finn O’Riley. He’s her uncle.

You do not need to have read either of those stories to read and enjoy this one.

What can you share about Ivy?

I had a little fun with her name. Ivy’s full name is Ivy Lynn Harrison-Ford. Her mom’s maiden name was Harrison. Her dad’s last name was Ford. So her parents gave her and her brother the hyphenated last name, which just happens to be the name of a famous actor.

And what can you share about Jon?

Jon is from Los Angeles, but always planned to move away for a quieter life. Unlike a lot of his family, he had no interest in show business.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about this story?

It’s a romance, the story of how Ivy and Jon got engaged. This is one of my favorites. And it’s the other story in the collection I managed to get my brother to read.

Do you know which story you’ll tell us about tomorrow?

Yes. Tomorrow’s story is Count Your Blessings.
